How many meanings are there in this sentence? “I didn’t say you stole her iphone.”      (Actually there are 7 – depending on how you emphasise the words. – 强调文字) Try to emphasise  a different word everytime you read it. Do you understand the differences?

eg I didn’t say you stole her iphone – meaning it was another person who said it.

I didn’t  say you stole her iphone  – meaning -What I said was not that.

I didn’t say you stole her iphone  – meaning – I might have thought it but I didn’t say it – I might have written it .
